1mb size and above emails are not getting vaulted for perticular user

Issue:

email of the size of 14 MB is not getting vaulted
user has tried it for the last 3 days and it did not work

We are having Exchange 2007 and Enterprise Vault version is 8.0.5, we have 6 Enterprise vault server with 6 mailbox servers configured to that, Exchange maibox server is clustered envirnment.

Troubleshooting done till now:

we have run the Sync on the EV server for the perticular user mailbox, enabled and disabled the user EV mailbox, ran the manul archiving on the server side with report mode and checked it had some 254 items to vault, emails got vaulted next day but they were all below 1 mb, more than 1mb emais were there in pending vault status.

till now its in same status, please any one help me from this, there are many issues with me.

i am having bulk of issues in EV, i am new to this EV an di dont know how to resolve.

San client backup says: FT client has no devices configured

Hello All,

Trying to setup san client backup together with my media server.
What i did already

1. Zoning, san client with storage and hba are zoned together with media server hba,

2. San client enabled for system that has storage connected.

3. Configured new backup policy.

When i start the backup:

awaiting resource advanced-disk-stu - FT client has no devices configured

Looks like i have missed something here...

I do have an advanced disk configured with slp that is used for direct san backup (on a different hba) for my esx setup (and working fine0.
Is this setup conflicting on 1 media server?

Custom dash boards

We have a lot of clients that want fast and insightful information about there review process.

At the moment the best that clearwell has to offer is the export that can be done from the dashboard.

We and our clients would like a way to customize the dashboad and export with which folders/tags etc and save them like a saved search

What's the easiest way to find which X computers are a member of both Filter 1 and Filter 2?

Altiris 6.9 SP6 Windows 7 Imaging

I've just built a new Altiris 6.9 SP6 server for our Windows 7 imaging. It's running on a Server 2012 R2 VM. I have been using Altiris 6.9 SP5 previously but wanted to start a fresh. I have setup the WinPE 4.0 ADK files and imported those files into the PreBoot files also.

However when I push our Windows 7 image to a machine, after it is finished and boots back up it gets to the Starting Windows stage, it crashes and then restarts. I have copied over our processes to our new Altiris server so nothing should be different.

Any ideas?

template tag sets

Ls,

The reuse of tags is at the moment not posible whithout retyping them. We would like the possibility to create a tag template that can be deployed to multiple cases. Also the possiblility to add them to aexisting tag set would be nice.

BE2014 + NDMP + Powershell

Hi,

I would like to use the new feature in BackupExec 2014 for using Powershell and NDMP.

I follow the example avalaible in the Help as follow:

 C:\PS> $x = New-BENdmpNetAppServerSelection -Volume "/vol/vol1" -Path "/testfolder" -Recurse:$true

 C:\PS> Get-BEAgentServer "NetAppServer" | New-BEBackupDefinition -BackupJobDefault BackupToDisk | Add-BEBackupSelection $x | Save-BEBackupDefinition

(of course I replace "NetappServer" with my Netapp server name that can I also see via Get-BEAgentServer)

The error result is :

Why the bind don't pass ?

I notice that for other selection type (vmware, sql, exchnage etc...) they pass in the "New-BEBackupDefinition" command an option related to the seltion type (like -VMwareSelection , -ExchangeDatabaseSelection or -OracleSeleciton) but no kind of -NDMPselection. 

Somethings is missing or I miss somehtings ???

symnatec folder taking more than 50 gb hard disk space

under symnatec end point folder I2_LDVP.tmp---msl-2408-2 file is created it is taking 50 GB haridisk space.why this file is created?what could be the cause?

old search page opens in 11.0.1 instead of new search page

Hi,

After upgrading a customer from version 10.0.4 to 11.0.1 and installing the new client on the customer machine the following happens:

1. in EV ribbon - when pressing "search vault" button - search opens in new IE page and not inside the outlook window.

2. the search page that opens is the old search.asp page, when i remove the .asp from the address, new new search appears and all searches are working, but it wont open as the default search page.

Anyone seen this before? 

how can I force the search page to:

1. open inside outlook

2. open the new search page.

Tape no longer listed under storage

I've started to experience this unusual event.  I run an inventory before my jobs for the weekend and the slots all show tapes in them.  During the course of the backup job Backup Exec will "lose" a tape.  It will show a tape slot as empty and the job will sit and wait.  If I run a scan it picks up the tape again and the job continues.  Has anyone else seen this?  I am running Backup Exec 2014 with SP 2 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server.

Hi

Is it possible to restore individual Items from a GRT Backup to the same Mailbox, but to a new Folder "Restore"? How do I have to configure that, I only see to define the destination mailbox.

What about restore to another Mailbox to a new folder?

BE 2014 BEMCli Powershell commandlet timeout

Hi all,

I have a Backup Exec 2014 Server (under Windows 2008 R2) that comes from a recent migration from BE2010 R3.

The mirgation was OK, no problem... but I have more than 100 job definition to rename and I would to script it, as "point and click" solution is too long...

So I'm trying to use the "Get-BEBackupDefinition" commandlet (just to pipe the result in a Rename-BEBackupDefinition commandlet).

But this "Get-BEBackupDefinition" commandlet is very verye very long to execute... more than 10 minutes... and no result, but this error message :

But am I the only one to have this problem ? Could someone try this commandlet and tell me if it runs normally ?

Welcome to the January edition of the Symantec Intelligence report. Symantec Intelligence aims to provide the latest analysis of cyber security threats, trends, and insights concerning malware, spam, and other potentially harmful business risks.

The average number of spear-phishing attacks rose to 42 per day in January, up from 33 in December. Finance, Insurance, & Real Estate overtook Manufacturing in the Top-Ten Industries targeted for the month of January. The overall phishing rate also rose slightly in January, to one in 1,004 emails.

There were ten data breaches reported in January that took place during the same month. This number is likely to rise as more data breaches that occurred during the month are reported. In comparison, there were 14 new data breaches reported during January that took place between February and December of 2014.

Vulnerabilities are also up during the month of January, with 494 disclosed overall and two zero-days discovered.

Best place to look for setup information on Alteris?

Hello,

We currently don't have an imaging soloution and we need one. I've set up an isolated test enviorment with a 2012 R2 server (Domain/DHCP/DNS) and two client PC's one with windows 8.1  the other with windows 7 connected to the test domain.

I spoke to symatec over the phone and recieved a trial for Alteris 6.9 and after registry hacks and chages to .ini's i was able to get it running, however it does not support EUFI boot enviorments which means it will not fit our needs

I am new to altiris/symantec and i would like to set up a test enviorment with the latest version of alteris DS. I'm just looking for some guidance, and documentation as i've been lead in the wrong direction so far.
